This Vermont Green Slate roof was installed by C.G. Bostwick in 1927 for the C. H. Veeder residence. Currently this building houses The Connectictut Historical Society. The roof is still maintained by C.G. Bostwick today.

MAINTENANCE PROGRAMS

A quality roof repair will pay for itself over the lifetime
of the building.

When we inspect your roof, we gather a great deal of information about your roof and rain carrying systems. This information goes into our permanent files so that C. G. Bostwick will be able to assist you in the maintenance of your building as long as you own it. Our "Maintenance Files" are a permanent record of all the buildings we work on. This familiarity allows us to focus on the long and short term needs of your roofing system.

We offer customized maintenance programs to our customers. This is a proactive service to have roof systems inspected and maintained on an annual or semi-annual basis. It is important to the long term service life of your roof to monitor potential problems and catch others as they occur. The resulting damage to substrates, insulation, interior finishes and property caused by water infiltration can be extensive and expensive.

All slate roofs require an annual inspection and proactive maintenance to maximize their service life. The best tile and slate will crack or come loose under various circumstances. Snow and ice sliding over a slate roof can crack or shift individual pieces of slate. Debris from wind and rain storms left in a valley can cause leaks.
